In order to promote the health and wellness of all members of our HCES community, please remember that if children come down with a fever, they must stay home until they are fever-free (HCES policy 100°F or below) for 24 hours without the aid of fever-reducing medications.
Students who are contagious with illnesses such as strep throat, conjunctivitis, impetigo, etc. should be kept at home until they have been on antibiotics for 24 hours or cleared by their physician to return to school.
Remember, as we see the start of cold and flu season, HANDWASHING is the single most effective way to prevent the spread of illness. Flu vaccines are also strongly recommended for all ages for the prevention of the flu.
