The Kearney Center provides 24-hour comprehensive emergency services to individuals experiencing, or on-the-verge of experiencing, homelessness. The facility serves as a point of entry into assistance by coordinating services and responding to the immediate needs of individuals and families until appropriate permanent housing can be arranged (kearneycenter.org).
Cold weather increases the number of people seeking services at The Kearney Center. When there is a severe drop in temperature, they serve over 400 individuals and provide over 900 meals per day.
The Student Council outreach project for February will be to to help the homeless in Tallahassee by donating the following items to The Kearney Center. Holy Comforter Episcopal School is making a difference in our community.
