Congratulations Senior Alumni Class of 2018!

Holy Comforter's 8th grade class of 2014 (30 students in all) will soon graduate from 5 local high schools (Leon, Lincoln, Chiles, Maclay, and JPII) and Florida Virtual School. Although information is still coming to us about scholarships and awards that they have been awarded, we are so proud of their accomplishments that we could not wait to share it with you.

Individual Achievements of Note:

Ginger Lucas is John Paul II Catholic High School’s Class of 2018 valedictorian! She plans to attend the University of Florida as a Florida Academic Scholar and study aerospace engineering. She was also nominated for the Best and Brightest award for Science and Health. Congratulations Ginger!

Eli Murphy (Leon) was accepted in the FSU Film School, which has been described as ‘one of the top motion picture schools in the nation.’ Admission is extremely selective and competitive; in fact, this year they only accepted 18 students from 450 applications. Eli was also nominated for the Best and Brightest award for Technology.

Marshall Murphy (Leon) will begin his college career, next week, in New York City at NYU studying two years worth of French in 12 weeks before he spends his freshman year at NYU Paris in their Global Liberal Studies (GLS) program.

Rebekah Hopkins (Leon) will be attending Belmont University in Nashville, TN where she received a merit scholarship to study Commercial Music/Vocal Performance. For the last 3 years she has been the lead singer of the local band, The Good Little Chickens.

The Florida State University Honors Program provides an enriched curriculum and special opportunities for exceptional, high-achieving students, and only accepts 400 students into its program from thousands of incoming FSU freshman. In fact, in 2017, this program average academic profile of the Honors Program applicants that were admitted was: 4.4 weighted GPA; 33 ACT composite; and a 1500 SAT total. Congratulations to Connor Klekamp (Leon), Kennedy Knisley(Leon) and Maddie Powell (Leon) for their acceptance into this prestigious program.
