Holy Comforter Welcomes Dr. Tim Elmore
Holy Comforter Episcopal School hosted the 7th installment of the Lecture Series on Tuesday, September 27th. Members of the school community gathered to hear Best Selling Author and international speaker Dr. Tim Elmore “Mistakes All Parents Can Avoid: Leading Your Kids to Succeed in Life” based on research from one of his top selling books.
Dr. Tim Elmore is a leading authority on how to understand the next generation and prepare tomorrow’s leaders, today. He is a best-selling author, international speaker, and president of Growing Leaders, a nonprofit that helps develop emerging leaders under the philosophy that each child is born with leadership qualities.
Tim and his team provide public schools, universities, civic organizations, and corporations with resources that foster the growth of young leaders who can transform society. For over 30 years, he has taught leadership through the power of images and stories that enables young adults to influence others in a positive way.
Dr. Elmore discussed the pressures of raising children in today’s world, engaging the audience with entertaining stories from his experiences. Dr. Elmore, a parent of 2 children and former educator, offered a wealth of knowledge to members in the audience based on his experience from all sides of the spectrum. He insightfully explained common mistakes we all make based on his research findings and offered helpful tips on how we all can work together to successfully prepare the leaders of tomorrow. His interactions with parents throughout the crowd led to discussions and questions on insightful parenting topics.
Earlier that afternoon, members from local schools, as well as our own faculty and staff participated in a specialized workshop with Dr. Elmore titled "Marching of the Map." He encouraged the educators to be pioneers in their field and shared his expertise on teaching children in this ever-changing world. He also spoke about ways to prepare these students for a future where many of the jobs they will encounter have yet to be created.

Holy Comforter Episcopal School Lecture Series began as a community forum where individuals will gather to hear engaging and enlightening conversation. Speakers present annual lectures on meaningful topics such as science and technology, education and civic leadership.
