The students, faculty and staff of Holy Comforter Episcopal School opened their hearts this holiday season. The school sponsored 34 children through the GuardianAdLitem program in which to provide a Christmas full of gifts. Each class sponsored a child and students, with their families, brought in gender specific clothes, toys and other necessities. The GuardianAdLitem children ranged in age from a few months old to teenage years.
This has become the annual Christmas outreach program for Holy Comforter, as the school has been associated with GuardianAdLitem through Child Advocate II since 2002.
On Thursday, December 6th, teachers and students gathered the gifts from each classroom and set them out front under the Bell Tower for pick-up. The site was a mound of bags, bikes, games and more, full of goodies for local children. Members of the Holy Comforter student council helped load the toys into the back of the moving truck. Despite the chilly morning, our hearts were full. GuardianAdLitem will host an event for the foster families to come pick-up the gifts before Christmas.
